should old acquaintence be forgot?

if we are, in fact, like the clay on a potter's wheel, with internal and external forces constantly provoking our shape-shifting and sometimes even a do-over, then it does seem within our best interests to remain as maleable as possible.

i get the whole thing that we experience the fourth dimension of time like a video tape, and that it all exists in totality (we just see it frame by frame), but it confirms that just because something isn't in front of our faces anymore doesn't mean it ceases to exist. it's out there ("there"), somewheres - we just have to finish watching all the tapes first.
