Texts with David

This was a text echange I had with David in 2016. I didn't get sober-sober for another 5 years. He passed suddenly in March 2020. It means a lot to me to keep a little bit of him here.

me: David, did you know that both animals and humans go through the same grieving process?

him: I did not know that.

me: It's true.

him: That makes sense. I believe you.

me: I haven't had a drink in two weeks.

him: That's good to hear. How do you feel?

me: Better than I ever imagined I could. Thanks.
