Summer hours

Remember when grocery stores had the fresh lobster tanks? Back when we'd still smoke in restaurants and put car seats full of infants unbuckled on the front bench. Window frames were mostly metal. Trash compactors were going to save the environment. Electric boogaloo in the stock market. But those lobsters, confined in the artificially blue lagoon aquariam tanks, moved about with few cares other than brethen claw-poking each others' eyes. The fish in the frozen cases had already met their demise. Technically, the lobsters' future was still unwritten.

That's kinda what this summer feels like.
